Nagarjuna’s Shirdi Sai is released grandly worldwide today.
Producer A. Mahesh Reddy has released the movie in 801 theatres. As per
the inner reports, Mahesh Reddy has just invested Rs. 5.5 crores budget
on the film.
As per the secret deal, producer
requested director K. Raghavendra Rao to wind up the project in Rs. 5.5
crores package without paying any remuenrations to Nagarjuna and
Keeravani before the release. But, he promised them to take shares in
the profit which will be distributed between director, Nag and
Keeravani. The film is mostly shot in rural locations to give an
authentic feeling of Shirdi where Baba lived. Even there were no big
sets erected unlike KRR’s lavish projects.
Raghavendra Rao’s earlier films like
Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu were made with high budgets offering richness
in each and every frame but as Shirdi Sai is made on a low, shoe-string
budget we won’t find any grandeur. Shirdi Sai is a good treat for Baba
devotees and is expected to collect a share of Rs.5crores today that is
on release day itself. So, movie will definitely go into superb profits
from the day 2.
