Raghava Lawrence is basically a choreographer and no doubt he is one of the star dancers of India. Then, this talented guy ventured into direction with Nagarjuna starrer ‘Mass’ which was a run away hit. Later, Lawrence directed successful movies Style, Muni, Don and Kanchana. His last release Kanchana was also a big hit in Telugu as well as Tamil.
Then Lawrence turned music composer with
‘Don’. Some say, “a professional is always a professional”. It is not
that easy to compose songs and background score without having minimum
knowledge on Music. During Rebel audio launch Lawrence said, “Many have
asked me on how I can score music? I’ve told them that nobody trained me
even direction but I’ve succeeded in that department and like wise I am
composing music also. It’s happening like that.”
Rebel audio may be liked by some ‘B’ and
‘C’ class audience as there is nothing more than boring drum beats in
all the songs. In Nagarjuna’s King movie, there was a dialogue when
Music Director Brahmanandam asks his assistant Srinivas Reddy after
composing each song, ‘Ela Undi Ra’ (how is the song), then Srinivas Redy
says ‘Alage Undi Sir’ (ditto). So, for Rebel audio, there is nothing
new in the album. The audio has more noisy tracks. Better, Lawrence
concentrate only on direction.
