Brothers
is centered around the conjoined twins, Vimal and Akil ( Surya) born to
Sachin Khedekar.But, that is justthe tip of the iceberg. The plot is
much bigger than the conjoined twins as it touches upon key contemporary
international issue such as Genetic Modified Food(GMF). Vimal tends to
be a decent guy & Akil is of bit naughty type falls in love with
Anjali (Kajal) while, their father is an genetic scientist who
sells energy drink. His rivals sends spy to know the secret formula
of the drink but get killed after getting some information. And Vimal
dies in accident and Akil gets separated from him after surgery. Akhil
comes to know that the Russian lady was not a spy and the energy
drink of their company contains dangerous substances. He leaves for
Ukraine with Anjali to unravel the truth and with some interesting
scenes forms the plot of the movie.
PERFORMANCES
Surya carried the whole film on his
shoulders. Surya is there in almost every single frame in the movie.
Surya has proved again that he is director’s actor and works for the
script. Surya as conjoined twins is super energetic as he performs
high-risk stunts and difficult dance moves. Surya’s dedication and
hardwork throughout the movie will keep you wondering how he was able to
make it all look so easy.Its like Kamal’s Apporva Sagodharulu. Kajal
Agarwal provides the necessary glamour and her expressions are cute in
first half and confident during the investigation scenes. Sachin
Khedekar look every bit like a struggling genetic scientist his
performance and characterization are extremely important in holding
audience interest.
ANALYSIS
In the first half, the comedy scenes
between the conjoined twins is the highlight of the movie. The
appreciable aspect of this movie is that not even in one scene or
passing reference that the conjoined twins are shown in negative light
or looked upon sympathetically. The 2nd half is more of an investigative
thriller will take you to uncharted territories, exploring both
geographical and emotional boundaries. All these concepts are tightly
integrated by masterful writing told in an easily understandable
narration style. Over all, Brothers is truly international standard
film with predictable story.
