Till date, small producers used to cry
that their films are getting choked due to the presence of big-flicks in
many theatres during festive times. But it is now happening between
big-flicks and biggest-flicks.
King Nagarjuna might have said that
‘Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu’ and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan are no
competition to him, but his distributors are not saying that. At some
popular B-centres in Andhra districts, Pawan’s movie is releasing in all
the theatres of those towns, hitting ‘Damarukam’ straight on the head.
While ‘Rambabu’ is coming tomorrow that is 18th October, Damarukam will
hit the marquee on 20th October. So, if there is severe shortage of
theatres in these money minting B-centres, how will ‘Damarukam’ recover
its jumbo budget is a big question. While some theatre owners will
readily empty for ‘Damarukam’ after two days of Rambabu release, some
are unwilling to give away Powerstar’s movie for at least a week.
Though RR Makers is keen to hit theatres
the very next day ‘Rambabu’ is releasing in a bid to cash on Dasara
vacation, distributors are saying it is a bad idea. Recovering 40 crores
budget for a Nagarjuna’s film is a real tough task but provided with
extraordinary content it is not impossible. We have to see this at Box
Office only…
